Affirm Your Way to A Beautiful Day

We are what we think. This happens to be my favorite subject!

Think about it. Our situation in life, whether positive or negative, was created because of the thoughts we continually produce every day. This short but sweet post is about a practical way of approaching each new day. And all this requires is flexing a few muscles and repeating a few words. Sounds easy, right? It is! A beautiful flower needs a nurturing patch of soil so that it may grow to its fullest potential. Here is a quick step by step guide to establish a solid foundation for your day to grow and flourish from:

1. When you rise each morning, smile! The simple act of smiling initiates the chemicals within your body (dopamine) that produce the feeling of happiness. Hold your smile for 20 seconds, regardless of your usual mood in the morning because this works either way!

2. If you have any obstacles to deal with during the day ahead of you, write down your ideal outcome for overcoming this obstacle as if it has already come to fruition. For example, if you have an essay to write for school that you seem to be struggling with, you could write "I have completed my essay in full, on time, and with confidence in my choice of words and ideas". Be creative!

3. Repeat this affirmation throughout the day.

The simple act of placing yourself into a receptive and happy state by smiling first each morning, and then approaching a previously scary obstacle with a fresh attitude will open you up to receive better results than if you were to dread the day ahead.
